Water…

People are always pushing the water….WHY?

Water keeps you hydrated, maintain your metabolic rate, fills you up, cleanses your skin…the list does go on.  The body’s lean muscle mass is made up of 75% water….so there is no surprise why its consumption is a key component in a healthy lifestyle….whether you are training to running a marathon, playing pick up with friends, car pooling the kids around or doing your day to day activities…we all need water to function at our best.

How much water did you drink today?  start keeping track in your journal you might be surprised at the amount you consume.  There is an on going debate about how much water should be consumed…but know this the daily functions require 10cups a day  which are released from the body in forms of urine, sweat and water vapor.

ONCE YOU ARE THIRSTY YOU ARE CONSIDERED DEHYDRATED IF YOU ARE DEHYDRATED YOU WORK AT 50% OF YOUR POTENTIAL

Water helps with weight loss…gives your body a false sense of fullness…water is one of the heaviest items we consume and it helps the brain sends the signal that we are full….on the other hand it also sends signals when we are thirsty that can easily be misinterpreted as hunger…definitely something to be avoided.  TIP have a glass of water 20-30 min before your meal every day and you will consume less food!!!

WATER HELPS DECREASE CRAVINGS AND APPETITE always a plus when making lifestyle changes.

Water helps rid the body of impurities….while people are in a weight loss phase…we are breaking down fat cells which trap toxins ect  in the body and therefore very beneficial to cleanse and flush the body of all its unwanted.  The added bonus is that your skin will look healthier.

Often people tell me they don’t like the taste of water…so add something to it…a piece of lemon/lime, frozen berries or even cucumber to add a little flavor…to help you get into the habit of drinking regularly.

Drinking water will help you stay better hydrated, more energized, and help you achieve that leaner you.
